Saudi Energy Efficiency Labeling (EER Labeling)

Saudi Standards and Metrology Organization, In March 2009, SASO announced in the Official Gazette of the State that it will impose mandatory energy efficiency labeling requirements on air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators and freezers from April 22, 2010, in addition to the current Saudi Product Conformity Certification (CoC). All air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators and freezers shipped to Saudi Arabia must be certified for energy efficiency and bear energy efficiency labels before they can legally circulate in the market.

All manufacturers/exporters must meet this new requirement and apply for an energy efficiency certificate before entering the kingdom.
